Dan graduated from Arizona State University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with minors in Marketing and English. After a short year in promotional marketing, Dan realized his heart was in the residential construction field. This stemmed from his teenage years as a laborer as well as an internship within residential real estate while attending college, in Arizona. When an opportunity presented itself to get back to the construction field, he jumped right on it. Within a year Dan felt compelled to start his own residential siding company in August 2002. Kolb Construction focused primarily on siding new construction homes for numerous high-end builders all over the Eastside (Kirkland, Bellevue, Issaquah and Sammamish).
Fast forward 12 years, Dan’s experiences and professional connections within residential construction led him to explore other aspects of the industry, while working for Wichser Construction as an estimator/project manager and carpenter. When branching out and partnering with a local real estate agent on some small siding repair projects, Dan discovered a new and exciting market, fixing homeowners properties to better position them to list/sell. This an emerging market that few can effectively service.
Dan’s overall experiences in residential construction are inclusive, ranging from rolling up his sleeves to complete the job, to getting out the computer and managing a project from bidding to billing. Constant communication, quality craftsmanship, honesty, and fair pricing are the principals that Dan has lived by. These are the same principals Dan continues to develop within the PNW brand.
On a personal note, Dan is a Washington native and currently resides in Bothell with his wife Erin of 17+ years, two children Wynn (14) and Owen (10). When he isn’t working, he enjoys as much time as possible with his family. Not finding enough time to be with them is his only complaint! The cliché “time flies” is no joke! He also enjoys keeping his mind and body strong with Crossfit, most any sport (skiing, softball, football, basketball, etc…), as well as exploring the outdoors. Spending time with local family and good friends is also a priority for Dan and his family.
